    >IMHO 16 GB for FreeBSD systems seems like more the enough - my current 'desktop' with 1500+ packages installed takes 12 GB ... and most people do not have that much stuff installed.

I use my FreeBSD system as an actual computer and not as an expensive and needlessly power hungry front end to a terminal emulator so my install has 219GB of data on freebsd-zfs.

I think how you use computers and how the vast, overwhelming, majority of users use their machines may be a little different.

Do not confuse 'system' and 'data' sizes.

For this 16GB I was thinking the space only for FreeBSD base system and pkg(8) packages. Nothing more.

Wait, one can use FreeBSD for something other than running tmux? The more you know.

Yeah. You can run a jail with tmux!
