    MOSFET failure? I googled MOSFET failure (well, Binged actually) and the very first response was an article on the use of MOSFETS in automotive applications and how extremely low the failure rate (a few per million) is. Certainly not high enough to warrant a recall, I wouldn't think.

    It's much more likely to be a circuit design defect that was causing the MOSFET to fail and that's why they're doing a recall.

      Yeah, MOSFETs are renowned for their ability to cope with just about anything you throw at them, within far greater limits than most components.

      MOSFET failure means “I really screwed up the feed or load circuit”.
