Spotify also killed SpoTube for several months until thery were able to find an alternate source for music metadata (https://github.com/KRTirtho/spotube/commit/43ddf90c48b0c5c34...)

They seem to be more litigious than peers like Youtube and TikTok.

So it is for the unlock premium patch, described as "Unlocks Spotify Premium features. Server-sided features like downloading songs are still locked."

        ...so sick of Spotify.

But it's hard to justify not putting my music on it. Sure, I can direct people to Bit Torrent, IPFS, and Bandcamp first, but understandably some people want to stream instead of download, and some people are already deep in the playlist and discovery mechanics of Spotify.

I wish I were able to forego the paltry royalty payments from streaming in exchange for my songs just having premium features even if listeners aren't on paid plans.
