Luckily still present where I buy my bagels. I’ve only done it a few times but I do remember than rye flour makes a somewhat more difficult dough to handle.
I love an egg salad sandwich on a pumpernickel bagel! Also very good toasted with scallion cream cheese.
Can't get Pumpernickel Bagels at all in London UK. It's a pity.
