China is winning the digitally enhanced electric-car race.

The West capitulated and regressed to the "good ole days" of 19th century economics --- because more than half the population is too poorly educated to know any better.

My household tends to keep cars for 5-10 years, so I do pay attention to longevity and the necessary parts and service availability that leads to longevity.

Some various things I've read out of Australia suggests that Chinese EV makers support their old cars about as well as phone makers support Android phones.

In other words, I am perfectly happy watching from the sidelines to see how it plays out. Someone else can take this risk.

That's perfectly reasonable, but I would take a gamble on a Chinese EV versus a Big 3 gas car any day. The gas car has annoying and expensive maintenance built-in already.

Remember when the West competed by making better products?

Why compete when you can tariff?
