I’m reminded of Charlie Hebdo shooting in 2015. This year I heard a program on This American Life about comedians in Syria post-Bashar al-Assad under the rebels government of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

Comedy is not a subject I mentally associate with Muslims in the Middle East.

Comedy must surely be the ultimate form of free speech (whereas “Citizens United” might be the most radical form).

Well I guess the propaganda worked for you.

Ironically, most Iranians can't see the propaganda since they don't have internet access.

I don't think it's aimed at them anyway.
